Abby Blomer, M.S.
Abby earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2023 and her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and Counselor’s Education in 2025 from Indiana University Bloomington. Abby has several years of experience working in inpatient and private practice care with individuals experiencing complex trauma, interpersonal conflict, and suicidal ideation.
Abby provides individual, couples, and family therapy for individuals across the lifespan. Her areas of work include supporting individuals in trauma processing, especially for complex and developmental trauma, attachment and interpersonal concerns, domestic violence, and sex therapy. Abby utilizes a strengths-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed approach when working alongside clients and leans on DBT, CBT, and EFT modalities in her practice. She emphasizes connecting with one’s inner child, supporting an individual in creating the life they envision for themselves, establishing and supporting boundaries, and building emotional regulation skills.
When sitting down for a session with Abby, one can anticipate a judgement free space where a counseling session is tailored to your needs. Abby enjoys using art, music, fidget toys, and movement to create a safe environment where one can feel seen and heard. She wants to build a collaborative space with each client, creating a therapeutic alliance in which the client feels safe expressing their needs in and out of session.
Outside of session, one can expect to find Abby with her two cats reading or painting. Abby enjoys taking trips to see the many art exhibits in and around Indianapolis, taking her cats outside to sunbathe, and binge-watching bad horror movies after work!
