Amber, Masters Intern

Amber is completing her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Butler University. Originally from Gary, Indiana, she now resides in downtown Indianapolis and brings a rich background in physical wellness to her mental health practice. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Personal Training Certification from Indiana University, as well as an Associate of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis.

She approaches counseling from a person-centered and eclectic framework, tailoring her support to each client’s individual needs. She is passionate about creating a collaborative, safe, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. She believes you are the expert of your own life and she is a support to guide you home to your authentic self. She enjoys (but not limited to) walking alongside others navigating relationships, identity and sexual exploration, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Amber is especially committed to affirming the experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals and those from diverse cultural backgrounds. She brings a holistic, mind-body lens to the counseling relationship and value the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. As an intern, she is dedicated to continued professional development and staying informed on current, evidence-based practices.

Amber shares, “outside of work, I enjoy volunteering on the board of Stonewall Sports, spending time with my loved ones, traveling, sporting events, and being active.”
