Joshua, Masters Intern
Joshua is currently completing his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marian University, where he is specializing in addiction counseling. Born in Nigeria, he has lived in multiple countries, including the United States and England, experiences that have shaped his multicultural perspective and deep appreciation for diverse identities and life stories. He earned his honours undergraduate degree in Psychology from Coventry University, where he developed a strong foundation in human behavior, research, and mental health theory.
Joshua approaches counseling from an integrative and person centered framework, tailoring his work to meet the unique needs of each client. He is committed to creating a safe, collaborative, and free space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. He believes that each person is the expert of their own life, and he views his role as walking alongside clients as they build insight, strengthen coping skills, and move toward meaningful change.
As an intern, Joshua is dedicated to ongoing professional development and grounding his work in current, evidence based practices. Outside of counseling, he enjoys sports, music, film and television, engaging conversations, and spending quality time with friends and family.
