Maisy Foley, LMHC
I’m a licensed therapist who specializes in helping individuals navigate emotion dysregulation, maladaptive coping, and negative self-image. My work is rooted in DBT, mindfulness, emotional expression, and CBT. Meaning, I help clients become more aware of their emotions, recognize harmful responses, and build confidence to navigate challenges in the future.
Many of the people I work with find themselves having intense emotional reactions, difficulty self-soothing, and falling into a shame spiral. You might find yourself becoming overwhelmed by an emotional wave, responding impulsively out of fear, anger, or guilt. Maybe you get stuck in rumination, or periods of anxiety and depression, unable to shift the tides. Together, we work to identify the underlying emotions at play and establish healthier coping mechanisms. While honoring emotions and honing in on strengths, we are able to create new patterns that enhance self-esteem and relationships with others.
What sets my approach apart is balancing strengths and areas of growth. Using skills-based approaches, I help clients build a positive and connected sense of self, while building tools to feel more stable, intentional, and resilient. I am to create a space that feels safe, collaborative, validating, and interactive, where you can show up as your true self.
Clients often tell me they feel empowered in our work together. They feel able to navigate emotions, relationships, and responsibilities in ways that align with their goals and values. My goal is to help you move through life with mindfulness, emotional security, and self-assurance.
