Ryan Smith, LMHCA

I am a queer therapist who has an associates license in counseling. I focus on working with individuals struggling with identity, spiritual and existential distress, racial inequalities. I have experience working with neurodivergent individuals, and the LGBTQIA+ community. My work is grounded in existential therapy, mindfulness and attachment work, meaning that I strive to help others make decisions in their life that provide fulfillment and understanding to one’s self. We look at how our upbringing has informed who we are today, and work towards where you want to be now and tomorrow.

Have you ever felt that things could be going well in your life, but something wasn’t quite right? Or noticed that sense of dread and uncertainty towards what you’d like your life to look like? You are not alone in that feeling. Our emotions could be nudging us to pay more attention to what may bring you more peace and balance within your life. I seek to walk with you in exploring what your emotions are trying to tell you, and to establish a greater sense of direction.

With this approach, we are able to look at the practical parts of life while also acknowledging ourselves as a whole. Together we can establish skills to help you in your day to day. We can also discover parts of you that may be more hidden or that you may find difficult to talk about.

I hope to create a safe and honest space for you to explore who you are at your pace that is collaborative. Through this environment, you can feel empowered to make decisions, create boundaries, and establish healthy relationships.
